Lisheen Castle Haunted Ruins
Thursday, July 24th, 2008Lisheen Castle has been a major tourist attraction in County Tipperary for some time now and visitors flock there every year, but the majority of them are interested in its paranormal goings on. Building began in 1827 on the lisheen castle haunted ruins, but it was not completed until 1840, so the ghosts are not that old, but boy are they mad! There are conflicting stories about who built it though. Some say it was William Fibbs, others say it was a man by the name of Charles Lloyd. Both were local landlords that were anything but kind to the people living in the area. The local townsfolk hated the local landlords because they were tyrants. They charged extortionate rents, evictions were common and families died because they were so impoverished. William Fibbs got the worst of it though. This was undoubtedly why he and Lisheen Castle were cursed.
