Until recently, I had never heard of a thumb piano. I couldn’t imagine how anyone could play a piano with just their thumbs! How wrong I was, because it turns out that this instrument is actually a a percussion instrument, and it is either placed on a flat surface or held with both hands to play — you simply play it by striking or plucking the small metal keys with your thumb. If you have ever seen any documentaries of Africa you have probably seen this type of instrument, as it originated there a long time ago. it seems to me that this instrument would be very easy to learn to play. I am going to have to investigate this just a bit further.
