We live in a very rural area where our nearest neighbor is about 10 acres away, and most houses are a mile back from the road.  That’s why I installed a train horn for cars into my vehicle.  Even so far from the road, my neighbors can hear when I drive by and honk at them.  It’s amusing to me to meet up with folks at church or the grocery store and have them tell me what day I drove by their house.  It’s one small way of keeping in contact with my friends.  When your home is as isolated as these out here, you need that.
