Women have been acknowledged to be of equal footing with men when it comes to certain lines of work or fields of studies. Minorities are also being regarded more and more as business owners and entrepreneurs. Women and minorities have the largest opportunity of any group to benefit from the generosity of federal grants for women. The federal grants are extended to non-profit organizations that could provide counseling, training and other technical assistance to women entrepreneurs. There are also federal grants available to help owners of minority-owned businesses to either start a new business or to expand and grow an existing business.
