Has the federal bail out made it easier to get a mortgage? My husband and I are thinking of purchasing our first house this summer. We have waited until now because several friends had tried to get mortgages last fall, and been turned down even though they had good down payments and credit. Do we stand a good chance now, of getting a PA mortgage, or should we wait longer? We see low interest rates being offered and would like to take advantage. We are not sure how to find the best company to work with, or how much money we should plan on using as a down payment.
