I was thinking about putting a kitchen in the basement of one of my rental properties to add another apartment to it, but the only walls in the basement are the cinder block walls. Can the kitchen cabinets be secured directly to these walls?
I wasn’t sure if lag bolts or concrete screws would be enough to support the weight of the cabinets. I was thinking about studding out the walls and adding drywall, but it would end up reducing the limited amount of space that is there. The guy at Home Depot didn’t think it would be a big issue to secure the cabinets directly to the block wall, but it might be hard to make them flush and level.
