Vegetable oil was conducted as early as 1853 by E. Duffy and J. Patrick. This all occurred long before the first diesel engine existed. The first one ran in August 10, 1893 in Augsberg, Germany. Bio diesel is a non petroleum based diesel fuel. It consists of methol and ethol esters derived from vegetable oil. It can be used in its purest form B100 or sometimes blended with petra. This type of fuel is fast becoming popular in production and is increasing rapidly. European fueling stations have already made this type of fuel available to consumers. Transportation fleets are catching on to the economic reasoning to this product. With the cost of oil and its depleting reserves, this fuel may be our next main source of fuel.
