I heard about my friends’ mormon temple wedding well over a decade ago. The husband had recently converted to the church and was previously Catholic. A mormon temple wedding is quite different than traditional weddings and rather than say “I do”, you’re just supposed to say yes. So as it came to that time, my friend said, “I do.” He was told, “You’re supposed to say ‘yes’.” He said, “I don’t know! I’m Catholic!” Everyone cracked up. To make the occasion even funnier, the man marrying them suggested they do nice things for each other like bake a pie. The bride’s grandpa yelled out, “I like two kinds of pie! Hot pie and cold pie!” I wish I had been there.
