The only speed limit on the internet is created by the limitations of the equipment you are using. If you are using a computer that uses modem for your on-ramp, you know you will be driving in the slow lane. For most of the history of the internet, Australians have been consigned to that slow lane. More recently, residents of the metro areas have been able to cut the umbilical phone line and get broadband service.
