I recently purchased something that said it wasn’t compatible with Displayport, and that you can’t use a Displayport cable with it. What exactly is this, and would I need to have my electronics compatible with it? It seems like they are always coming out with new things so that you are always having to upgrade your electronic components to be compatible with the latest thing. I hadn’t heard of Displayport before so I am assuming it is something new, and since I am not planning on upgrading any of my electronics for a while I figured I probably didn’t need it.
